Forged Friday
Today is Forged Friday at New Species CrossFit.The WOD you are about to perform was programmed specifically to thank the great men and women, both domestically and abroad, who help preserve the safety and freedom of the United States of America. As coaches we urge you to give your best effort on this day, Forged Friday, in order to honor; two 101st Airborne Division soldiers who died on February 12, 2009 from injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device exploded near their vehicle in Salerno, Afghanistan.
Army Specialist Peter J. Courcy, 22, of Frisco, Texas, and Private First Class Jason R. Watson, 19, of Many, Louisiana. These two heroes were assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Let us keep them in our heart and on our mind today as we pay tribute to their sacrifice.
