FORGED FRIDAY

Today is Forged Friday at New Species CrossFit. It is important on this day and everyday that we consistently recognize the men an women who keep this country free and safe. To our U.S Military and First Responders, we salute you today by training extra hard.During today’s training we would like to pay special tribute in honoring:

Sgt. 1st Class Corey Hood 32 years of age of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Sergeant Hood was a member of the Army Golden Knights parachute team. He died of injuries sustained when colliding in midair with a member of the Navy precision skydiving team during a group stunt on Saturday, at the Chicago Air and Water Show.

Hood survived five tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan and earned numerous military honors, including two Bronze Stars.

Let us keep this Hero in our heart and on our mind on this Forged Friday exercise.
